Bio
I am easily distracted and easily amused. I think the more things you love, the happier you are. I make wishes on the first star I see at night although thanks to my sister I now am educated and make certain it is actually a star I'm wishing on and not a planet. Stars twinkle, you know, planets don't -- scientifically speaking.

I lived in Japan for about six years and I love many things about it. If you are curious as to what sort of things, I refer you to my list of interests. However not all that I like about Japan is there. I am very picky about listing interests. It's not a list of things I like after all, it's a list of things I am interested in. I like nabeyaki udon, for example, but I don't want to learn more about it.

I'm collecting my third book of stamps that I have acquired at various temples and shrines I have visited. I collect them all together because, "Buddha and Kamisama are friends." I believe my star wishes and my prayers at temples and shrines are all valid ways of talking to God. That is to say, I am a "good little Catholic girl" but a rather open-minded one.

I was born the type of girl who adores pink, princesses and perfume. I fought it in high school in my attempt to be a grrrl. I finally discovered that you are not an empowered woman if you are denying who you are. So I want to marry Mr. Right, decorate our home in Neo-Victoriana, and stay home with the kids while perfecting my cinnamon bread recipe. I will also fight for Jane's right to bend steel and John's right to stay home with the kids and perfect his apple strudel recipe.

When I find myself in one of my blue funks, I remind myself, "How can you be sad when there are sparkly things in the world?"

"There's such a lot of different Annes in me. I sometimes think that is why I'm such a troublesome person. If I was just the one Anne it would be ever so much more comfortable, but then it wouldn't be half so interesting." -Lucy Maud Montgomery Anne of Green Gables
